Hi, We’re the Miller's. Our main mission in purchasing our van was travel baseball.  As a disabled Army Special Operations Veteran sitting in the hot Georgia heat for hours between games with nothing but junk food to eat just wasn't cutting it. We bought our FD2 Super Bowl weekend 2023.  We bought a one way ticket to Phoenix with our 10 year old son at the time and made a family vacation out of the trip back to Georgia.  We are both from the west and used to open space and exploring. We’ve put 23k miles on our van in just a year and don’t plan on stopping. We’ve been back to California and back, up to Cooperstown and down to Florida.  Owning our MAD van has been a game changer.

I have owned my Midwest Automotive Designs RV for several years now and I am in the process of purchasing another brand-new Midwest Automotive Designs RV!  My van has provided the opportunity for me and my 2 daughters to travel and thoroughly explore 49 states (of course we haven’t been able to “drive” to Hawaii) and have unforgettable adventures.  The exceptional experiences with our van is all credited to the outstanding van craftsmanship and exceptional, consistent, and dedicated customer service from the Midwest team in Elkhart, Indiana headed by Ronald Preston.  As far as customer service, the Midwest team has always been there for any questions or concerns quickly and without hesitation. There are so many RV dealers out there that don’t give the best walk-throughs upon purchase or provide any customer service (which was in my case with my dealer), but that didn’t create any issues for me since I had the support of the actual manufacturer of the van!  Midwest Automotive Designs team has stood by their product and guided me with anything I have needed. The entire Midwest team is supportive, knowledgeable, patient, and responsive.  They want to please their buyers and are receptive and appreciative to any feedback. Midwest is also very into innovation and state-of-the-art concepts and the reps love to learn from their customers' experiences.  That is the type of manufacturer you want to put your trust and money with!

 

Before this Midwest van, I owned a class B van from another manufacturer and was in the market for a newer and more modern class B van. I visited an RV show in Tampa (the largest show in the country) with an open mind and stepped into every van on display at the show.  It was not until I stepped into a Midwest Automotive Designs van that my decision was immediate. I was blown away by the amazing attention to detail, the classiness, and the superior build quality of this van. Everywhere I looked in this van, from the seating and leather work, the cabinetry, the flooring, the appliances, and the bathroom, the van exuded a classy modern look and feel as well as durability and quality. The materials used by Midwest in their builds are very well thought out and top-notch. It felt like a cozy home-like environment which would be suitable for me and my daughters to have the comforts for our long adventure travels. The level of craftsmanship in these vans convinced me that they are built to last and my experiences with the van over the year has confirmed this. The layout of the van is very user-friendly as well as the technology being easy to navigate. I am able to access everything with the touch of a button including the super easy black and gray tank dumping! Everything is easy enough for a woman traveling without help to figure out!

 

Now for the fun stuff…..I have become the rally coordinator for the Midwest Automotive Designs Owners Group! This is the best indication of my love for these vans. This is not a paid job.  I do it because the vibrant and supportive community of Midwest owners has added so much happiness to my life. I have helped to coordinate many rallies for owners and the Midwest Automotive Design team has attended each and every rally, supported us, and sponsored us! They have provided us with meals, lectures, and repairs at our rallies and mingled with all the owners to answer questions. These rallies provide our Midwest owners with a family and a comfortable sense of belonging to a community. We call ourselves the “MAD family” and Ron Preston and his Midwest team are a part of our family. At the rallies, owners share their experiences, tips, and stories and we all learn from each other whether it be cool tricks and ideas with our vans, fun modifications, new gadgets to travel or camp with, or travel experiences.  Best of all, we have formed friendships based around our van life and we are all super thrilled with our Midwest vans.

We decided to visit the MAD factory before our purchase. What we found was amazing, the state of the art facility, more than 100 employees, Upholsters building seats, wood workers finishing exotic wood tables. What we found was most impressive, was the dozens and dozens of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans being constructed. Not Escalades, Dodge or Ford vans, Just acres of Sprinters, It was AMAZING.

While traveling on a long distance trip with my Limo, we encountered a control problem with the Crestron. Kenny immediately got the ball rolling to replace the electronics pre-installed with our custom control software and arranged for Travis to overnight the parts to our hotel. I bought a new Midwest Passage 144 last summer. I didn't use it much but recently drove from Wisconsin to Florida and it seemed like there were some setting issues since some of the things were not working properly. I called a local RV dealer in Florida and they couldn't get me in for 2 months. So I called Midwest Automotive Designs to see what the warranty process was and where I can schedule an appointment. Oh btw, I called the original dealer that I purchased from because I thought they could walk me through on the phone but the tech never called me back. So I was transferred to Jason Kelly at Midwest Automotive Designs and he said that he can probably help me over the phone. I was delighted to hear that since that would save me time from having to take it to a dealer and having to drive back 20 hours without some functions working. Jason spent over an hour an a half working with me reseting settings, disconnecting fuses, resetting panels, etc. I felt so bad for taking so much of his time and honestly felt like quitting but he never wavered and was confident that we can resolve everything. Sure enough, after over 90 minutes, we got everything working properly. Most likely when I let the batteries drain without enough usage the settings got out of whack. He explained that I should have it plugged in when not in use for an extended period of time which I will definitely do in the future. I cannot express enough how professional, knowledgeable, and patient Jason Kelly was and how great I feel about Midwest Automotive Designs after our interaction. Jason Kelly, thank you so much! You are the best!

I’ve had my Patriot for over two years. With almost 200 nights camping, it’s been a great RV.

The extra-bonus you get by purchasing a Midwest van is their quarterly owner’s rallies. I’ve attended two “MAD About You Tour” rallies. Both were awesome. Both had their own themes. And in both MAD went all-out to provide courtesy repairs and parts installed by their factory Techs and group education seminars to learn how to use the van (inverter, lithium batteries, firefly, audio/visual system, etc.). The rallies prove that MAD “gets-it” about customer loyalty.

Only a month away from the Elkhart “Return to the Mothership” rally! And then Las Vegas and Crystal Beach, Texas in October.

I am the owner of a 2021 Midwest Passage. I bought it sight unseen after seeing the reviews that had been posted. My only regret is that I have not put enough miles on the van. In designing the Passage, Midwest thought of everything. The sleeping compartment is comfortable, plenty of storage space, and love the cooking/food storage arrangements. Bought our MAD Passage in February. We were late getting registered for the Ocala Rally, but Jackie made room for us. We ended up with the last spot. The rally was a great experience for my wife and I. We met so many great people at the rally. The wealth of knowledge is amazing. Although we only had our Passage a couple short weeks, we didn’t have the opportunity to utilize the free repairs onsite, but we watched all of the repairs going on. Never seen anything like it! It was definitely great to see a manufacturer support the group like that.
We’re going to the mothership rally in a few short weeks and will definitely be taking advantage of the repairs being offered. Touring the facility is one of my todo’s. Meeting up with friends we made at the last rally and learning from other owners is. Can’t say enough about the support that MAD has provided to the Mad about you Rally. From the dinner, to the vendor support onsite to the repairs. It’s definitely worth attending a rally sponsored by MAD.

I joined MAD group on Facebook for my 2019 weekender. I started going to the rallies. This last one was in Elkhart. They offered Classes on service that is needed, question and answer, also people shared about apps they used to travel. They provided techs to fix any issues even if they were out of warranty. The techs didn't have the parts needed so on Monday I went to the shop before heading home. Well worth the layover.

Went to the 2023 Fl rally and it was fantastic. No other manufacturer gives this this type of service and care for owners. The people, education and service to fix a few minor things in our rig was fantastic. Can’t wait to attend another rally to meet people and learn more. We are MAD fans for sure. I didn't have high expectations in getting support for my RV. It seems that once you have bought and paid, no one actually wants to talk to you after that. I was very pleasantly surprised by the effort put in by Brandon at Midwest Automotive Designs.

After the battery charge dropped too low, some systems went offline. I think the manual could be better at describing the electrical systems and what could happen under certain circumstances. Brandon spent a lot of time with me on the phone troubleshooting systems and software on my Midwest Passage. And my initial call got a prompt call back. All issues have been resolved to my satisfaction and I am more educated on the RV systems included on the Passage.

Incidentally, the Midwest Passage is an excellent, sophisticated RV. I have enjoyed using it.
